Winchester White was engaged by a leading UK Mutual to support a multi million pound business change programme to replace the insurer's back office administration systems. We worked along side the in-house team on a variety of different roles - taking joint ownership and responsibility

The key areas of involvement are:

• Support the Chief Executive, Programme Sponsor and Programme Director through our critical friend services
• Developed a benefits realisation framework to track the success of the programme
• Provided programme and project management expertise
• Designed and delivered a practical business handover plan
• Advised and worked with the senior management team to ensure outcomes.

Sourcing

Winchester White was engaged by this large UK insurer with an executive mandate to outsource their technical IT services department.

Our team was heavily involved throughout the programme and in particular, we were responsible for the following:

• Conducted initial market investigation of potential outsource partners
• Assessed and reviewed the effectiveness of current operational framework
• Led the supplier selection process
• Developed the cost model to allow effective comparisons of the different supplier bids

As a result of our work, it became clear that retaining the in-house operation whilst not the most cost effective solution, delivered superior internal customer service and presented a less risky solution in the long term. The client accepted this recommendation.

Systems

Winchester White was retained by this leading bancassurer to provide expert support and assistance to the selection of a new back office system. We deployed a domain expert to work with the internal team and manage the evaluation of the potential supplier of the claims system.
